The island

First stop is Roatan, a small island off the carribean coast of honduras. First observation: It's a welcoming country! I was able to walk straight through customs, no passport check... The customs agent must have been on coffee break...

Roatan was under british rule until a couple of hundred years ago and many people speak english as a result. In fact, I met a local who had a double barrelled, scottish-spanish name. He was drinking at 12pm as a true scot...
